National Take-Back Initiative
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Prescription drug use in Maryland has increased significantly over the past several years, causing a rise in the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses and creating a serious public safety and health issue. Please help to reduce the availability of controlled substances by appropriately disposing of any unused, expired, or unwanted medications in one of the DEA’s specified Take-Back Locations. To find out more, visit the DEA’s Drug Disposal Site, and find a collection site near you.
