Transportation

What happens when you really need to go to the doctor, but you don’t have any way of getting there?

Our friend Natasha had this problem. Faced with a diagnosis of diabetes, Natasha really needed to visit her doctor for regular appointments. But, without a vehicle of her own, she didn’t know how she would make it across town to the medical office.

At HealthCare Access Maryland, we’ll help you make it to each appointment.

It’s our belief that nobody should lack medical care simply because they don’t have a vehicle of their own. That’s why our medical care coordinators are pleased to work with people like Natasha, and to provide viable transportation solutions.

We’ll find a way to get you where you need to be.

When you talk with one of our coordinators, we’ll discuss your transportation barriers and work with you to overcome them. That means connecting you with education and information about the Medical Assistance Transportation benefit. And it means exploring public transportation and routes that are near your home. We may even help you find transportation to a behavioral health appointment via a service like Uber or Lyft.

Find a way to get the care you need.

Make sure you’ve got a ride to your next medical appointment. Our care coordinators can help.
