HealthCare Access Maryland’s (HCAM) Connector Program is a partnership with the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange to provide in-person assistance to people enrolling in Medicaid or private health insurance through the state’s marketplace, Maryland Health Connection.

HCAM is the designated Connector Entity for the Central Region (Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County) and the Midwestern Region (Howard County, Carroll County, Frederick County). In addition to our main location at 1 North Charles St., we have navigators stationed in health departments, health clinics, and other locations throughout the region.

The Connector Program works closely with the local health departments in our regions to help consumers with their enrollments and with providing and verifying the documents needed for their applications. Click here for a list of the health departments in Maryland.

We also partner with Chase Brexton Health Services and Health Care for the Homeless. We train employees at these partner organizations to provide navigator services to their clients.

In addition to helping consumers enroll in insurance, we have a robust outreach program to spread the word about the availability of health insurance through Maryland Health Connection. We do presentations at places like the Department of Labor, for people who are unemployed or about to be laid off, we go to community events, and we conduct enrollment events where consumers can work with a navigator to complete an application.
