HealthCare Access Maryland (HCAM) helps individuals and families enroll in health coverage through Maryland Health Connection, the state’s official health insurance marketplace.
Our certified Consumer Assistance Workers provide free, personalized assistance to help you:
- Apply for Medicaid
- Compare and enroll in Private Plans
- Check if you qualify for financial help including tax credits
- Renew or update your health coverage
- Understand the benefits covered by your insurance

Where We Serve
HCAM serves as a Connector Entity of the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange, providing free enrollment assistance and outreach services in:
- Baltimore City
- Baltimore County
- Anne Arundel County
- Howard County
- Carroll County
- Frederick County
Beginning July 1, HCAM will also serve Prince George’s County, expanding access to enrollment assistance and community outreach for residents across the region.
Community Outreach and Education
We meet community members where they are.
Our outreach team provides information, education, and enrollment support in trusted community settings, including libraries, schools, community centers, health centers, faith-based organizations, community resource fairs and neighborhood events. We partner with local organizations to bring health coverage resources directly into the communities we serve.
