Shante C. Brookshire has 10 years of public health experience in assessing, implementing, and evaluating community and health-based programs by managing program logistics to track program effectiveness and program performance. She currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Complex Care and Social Needs Department under Health Care Access Maryland. The Recovery Care Services Program, Returning Citizens Community Connection Program and Community Diabetes Initiative. Prior to this role, Shante served as a Program Manager for the Recovery Care Services-State Care Coordination program under Health Care Access Maryland, where she managed the daily program operations and logistics for Baltimore City and Baltimore County clients that are actively engaged in Substance Use Treatment or have been diagnosed with substance use disorder. She has a unique background in direct service, program & policy implementation, organization development, and evaluating health education programs that help individuals, families, and their communities.
A graduate of Morgan State University, where she obtained her Master of Public Health with a focus of Social and Behavioral Health Science. As well as her Bachelor of Science in Health Education, concentration of Health Promotion. In 2024, she completed a 4-month leadership program under the Dr. Nancy Grasmick Professional Leadership Program for Women at Townson University and currently is participating in the Leadership Baltimore County Program. Shante was born and raised in Baltimore City in the Park Heights neighborhood.
